DODDIE EVERETT

Doddie C Everett was the 4th son born May 11, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, of the 7 children to Kenneth and Ruby Everett who introduced him to Christ early in life. He entered his eternal rest on November 7, 2022, at the age of 63. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, friend, and father until his last breath. Doddie graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1977 where he had many interests, including playing football, running, and art. He attended the University of North Texas where he became a member of the Zeta Beta chapter of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. He enjoyed a career as a forklift operator for 30+ years. He cherished his co-workers as his friends at R+L Carriers. From his union to his high school sweetheart, Demetria Meshack (Daniels), a daughter, Danielle Yvonne Everett was born. He remarried to Beverly Devereaux with whom he had a special relationship.His hobbies included playing chess, listening to his large collection of albums, playing golf, trading stocks, reading the paper while drinking coffee at his favorite Starbucks, and making others laugh. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, share himself and evoke that same spirit of love and joy in each person he knew. Doddie was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth R. Everett and his eldest brother, Richard J. Everett. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Everett, his mother, Ruby Faye Everett, his brothers Kenneth (Keena) Everett Jr, Bruce (Cheryl) Everett, Timothy Everett, and Harry (Pam) Everett, his loving sister, Percellia Owens (Everett), his wife Beverly Everett and her daughter, Brittany Devereaux, and his beloved nieces and nephews, Shaundrika Oakry, Larry Owens, Kamliyah Everett, Zakiya Everett, Bruce Everett Jr., Latrice Moore, Kandyce Everett, Lamond Owens, Bryson Everett, Alexis Everett and a host of extended family including aunts, uncles, great-nephews, a great-niece, and cousins. After a good fight, Doddie’s battle against Leukemia has come to an end. His family wishes to extend a special thanks to the dedicated staff of Medical City Dallas. Visitation services will be held at Sandra Clark Funeral Home 6029 SRL Thornton FWY, Dallas, TX, on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 1:00-6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at New Mt. Zion Baptist church located at 9550 Shepherd Rd, Dallas, TX 75243 on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 1:00 PM. His friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Doddie’s life in the way he would want to be remembered - as a loving and caring man who enjoyed life.
