DARNELLA WARNER
March 25, 2022
Obituary Darnella Ann Warner was born on September 20, 1961, in Redbud, Illinois. She resided in various locations around the midwest and east coast until making Dallas, Texas her forever home. Being a mother was one of Darnella’s greatest desires. She raised three children, Terris, Tysha, and Toria, and acted as a mother figure to many others in the family as well. Darnella’s home seemed to be everyone’s home at some point or another. Her doors were always open to family and friends who needed it. She lived in her home for over 20 years and created many memories with her family under that roof. Darnella held many positions for work, two of the most prominent being at Blue Cross Blue Shield for 10 years and Merit Energy Company for about 13 years. Late summer 2021 Darnella decided to retire to pursue other ventures and focus on her health. She developed close relationships with coworkers at these jobs that she still carries with her to this day. It was clear she was adored and respected by her colleagues. In the early morning hours of March 25, 2022, Darnella departed this life after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Sarah Pruitt, and husband, Robert Warner. She is survived by: one son, Terris Ward; daughters, Tysha Hartman and Toria July; sister, Diane McGaha; brothers, Ernest Shephard and Kenja Shephard; granddaughter, Aalyse Ward; grandson, Darrian Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will cherish her memory forever. Darnella was a beautiful person inside and out who adored her family and friends with all her heart. Everything about her, from her big smile and heart of gold to her warmth and never-ending love, will truly be missed.
