!!! We Will Be Observing Social Distancing And To Please Wear A Mask !!! Freddie Marie Range was born February 9, 1935 in Dallas, TX to parents of Mathew T. and Edna May Blaylock. She was the second oldest of four children and their oldest daughter. She attended Dallas schools including N.W Harllee and Phyllis Wheatly for grade school and was so focused and dedicated that she graduated early from Lincoln High School in 1952 Freddie ventured out and moved California to attend Compton Junior Collège in Los Angeles as well as Pepperdine College where she majored in homemaking only to return to Texas to discover her true passion which was teaching and education. Freddie earned her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Texas College in 1958 and then her Masters Degree from North Texas State University in 1969. Freddie was a dedicate member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc. – Alpha Rho Chapter. . Freddie’s passion and zest for education and teaching throughout her career lead her to 36 years in DISD. She was the 1989-90 Cabell’s Golden/ Teacher of The Year. She received Teacher of Excellent Leadership Awards and many accolades for dedication. Her passions did not stop with education Freddie loved the Lord and she used her skills and knowledge to share her love of the Lord with others. She dedicated her time to “The Good News Club” an after school program to educate young minds about Christ. She worked with the Overcommer’s Inc - Prison Ministry – teaching bible study. Freddie was very devoted to her community and the things she loved. She was a life member of the Maria Morgan YWCA and worked for 13 years as membership worker. Freddie loved the church and she loved music. She was the church organist for 7 years for Epiphany Church. While serving at other churches she has sang in the choir and was the organist as well. Freddie is a choir member of the Silver Serenaders of Texas, Inc. and has recorded and toured with them. Freddie served on several committee’s as Senior Mission president, Training union director, She was always willing to lend a helping hand. Freddie’s other passion was cooking. She loved to cook for her family. It was ingrained in her and it came natural. It put a smile on her face when she hosted dinner for her family. It was a joy to her to make meals from scratch and especially the peach cobbler and tea cakes. On Dec 24,1983 Freddie Marie Blaylock married the love of her life Mr. Willie Lee Range. The 36 year love story was indeed magical. They knew each other in grade school and often speak of how – Willie would pull her pig tails in 3rd grade. Their love was unselfish and unending and a beautiful love story then as it is today. They love each other immensely, you never saw one without the other. They loved to worship, travel, serve the community and mentor together a true partnership. Freddie was preceded in death by her parents, Mathew T. and Edna M Blaylock, two brothers, Thomas A. and Marvin L. Blaylock. She now leaves to celebrate her homegoing, her loving husband of 36 years Willie L. Range of Desoto, Texas: Son – Anthony Range ( Beverly), God Daughter – Natarsha Price (Emory): Grand Children : Ebonie Range, Ambria Baker, Donita Yates, Camille Gray, Courtland Gray, Evan Gray, Ryan Sister – Edna J. Blaylock Johnson (Wayne Johnson II): Six grand children, seven great-grandchildren.
