JOYCE EVELYN BARTEE

September 27, 1935 - December 10, 2020

Reflections of the Life of Joyce Evelyn Bartee Mrs. Joyce Evelyn Bartee was born on September 27, 1935 in Regan Tx. She was born to the late Pearlene and Elbert Anderson Sr. Joyce was the first of 10 children from this union. Joyce committed her life to Christ at an early age in Regan Tx. As a youth, she attended Ash Creek High School in Pelham Tx then she met the love of her life Billy Norman Bartee in Frost Tx. The couple married and relocated to Tyler Tx. She united with The New Evangelistic Church of Tyler (Rev Bobby Land Sr Pastor) and she worked at the U. T. Health Center of Tyler, Tx as a nurse until she retired. She was a committed and loving wife of 59 years. From this union four children were born; Fredrick Bartee (Yolanda), Vanessa Bartee, Arthur L. Bartee (Cindi), Valencia D. Erwin (Craig); Seven grandchildren, Dewayne, Xavier, Maya, Jayda, LaCraigdrick, Leona, Frankie; Six great- grandchildren, Carlis, Payton, Ka’Naya, Justyce, Ava and Aaron. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Billy Norman Bartee. Two Brothers also preceded her in death, Kenneth Earl Anderson and Leonard Anderson. She leaves to cherish her memories four children, Fredrick Bartee (Yolanda), Vanessa Bartee, Arthur L. Bartee (Cindi), Valencia D. Erwin (Craig) and seven siblings; Berdia Davis, Missionary Mamie Anderson, Earlene Garrett (Steve), Jearlene Bruton (Raymond), Gwendolyn Bush, Elbert Anderson Jr. and Pinkie Bowen. In-laws, Richard Bartee (Erma) Thomas Bartee Sr. (Annie), Ruth Bartee and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Joyce Bartee was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great- grandmother, her sweet loving spirit and welcoming smile will continue to be missed dearly. Poem for back of program “God saw the road was getting rough, The hills were hard to climb He gently closed those loving eyes, And whispered, peace be thine, The weary hours, the days of pain, The sleepless nights are passed. The ever patient worn out frame Has found sweet rest at last”
